Online applications are invited from bonafide citizens of India for selection of candidates for recruitment to 39 (thirty nine) nos. permanent posts of Sub-Inspector of Excise for Excise Organization (Group-C, Non-Gazetted) under Finance Department, Government of Tripura in the scale of Pay Rs. 5,700-24,000/- Grade Pay of Rs. 4,200/-, Level – 10 of Tripura State Pay Matrix, 2018 per month, subject to revision by the Government from time to time.

  • Candidates with Benchmark disabilities will be governed as per the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India “THE PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES, PROTECTION OF RIGHT AND FULL PARTICIPATION) ACT, 1995” of the Department of Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs Gazette publication dated 1st January, 1996 & subsequent amendments.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

1. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS for Sub-Inspector of Excise :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science from a recognized University. However, B.E, B. Tech Degree holders are also to be considered in the aforesaid recruitment process.

2. DESIRABLE:

  • Knowledge in Bengali or Kok-borok.

Age:

  • Up to 40 years as on 14.04.2025. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 (five) years in case of SC/ST/PH candidates and Government servants. However, the SC/ST/Govt. Servant will not get the further relaxation of 5(five) years over and above relaxation of 5(five) years which they are already entitled to get as SC/ST candidates.

  • To apply for the aforementioned post, the applicant must have Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC). This is in pursuance of GA (P&T) Department Notification dated 07.07.2023.

The last date of submission of online application is 14.04.2025 (up to 5.30 PM).

  • The application(s) received after the closing date will not be entertained.

Selection procedure: The selection procedure will be governed as per notified schedule of the post of Sub-Inspector of Excise for Excise Organization (Group-C, Non-Gazetted).

Selection Process of Sub-Inspector of Excise:

(a) As per recruitment rules, the Selection process will comprise of 02 (two) successive steps: viz –
(i) Written Examination for 130 marks (Time allowed 3 hours).
(ii) Interview/ Personality Test: 20 marks.

(b) For detailed selection process please refer (Annexure-A).

(c) The total marks for the Interview/Personality Test will be 20 marks and shall be assessed based on the personal qualities of the candidate, e.g. intellectual ability, social traits, interest in current affairs, critical power of judgment, variety and depth of interest, ability for leadership and moral integrity etc.

(d) Candidates will be called for the Interview/Personality Test in category-wise based on the result of the Written Exam in the following ratio:

3 (three) and above 3 (three) times the number of vacancies
  • Candidate(s) scoring marks equal to that of the last candidate so selected for the Personality Test will also be called for Personality Test.

(e) Final selection will be made in order of merit based on the aggregate marks obtained by a candidate in the Written Examination and the Personality Test.

  • If a candidate remains absent in the Personality Test, his/her candidature will not be considered for final selection.

(f) In the list of recommendation, the merit position of candidates securing equal marks will be finalized as per their seniority of age.

  • The same procedure is to be followed for preparing the waiting list, if applicable.

  • Further provided that in the list of recommendation, merit position of candidates securing equal marks in aggregate and of the same age will be decided on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the minimum educational qualification prescribed in Recruitment Rules.

(g) Ranks of the candidates are not prepared for the candidates beyond the recommendation list & waitlist (if there be any).
